A Teacher affects eternity; no one can tell where his / her influence stops. – Henry Adams
We have heard that teaching is one of the noblest professions ever on this earth. A teacher is not the one who creates geniuses but the one who creates examples and inspires generations. Teachers’ Day is a special day dedicated to honoring and appreciating the contributions of teachers and educators in shaping the lives and future of students. It is celebrated in various countries around the world on different dates, but in our country it is celebrated on 5th September to commemorate the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the country’s first Vice President and former President, scholar, philosopher, and Bharat Ratna awardee, who was born on this day in 1888. The day is an opportunity for students and communities to express their gratitude and recognition for the hard work, dedication, and positive influence of teachers in their lives. . On Teachers’ Day, students often show their appreciation through various activities such as giving cards, flowers, or gifts to their teachers, organizing special assemblies or events, and expressing their gratitude through heartfelt messages and speeches. It’s a time to acknowledge the important role that teachers play in nurturing the intellectual and personal growth of students.
In Shree H J Gajera English Medium School, Primary Section, we celebrated the day dedicated to teachers in an exemplar manner. The program began with a surprise planned for the educators by the learners. All students created an aura of love and appreciation as they sang, recited a poem, danced, performed a skit and presented speech for the teachers. Then as the program ended, the learners who became educators for the day took control of the school. Not only had the learners acted as Principal, Vice-principals, Educators, IT Coordinator and Sports Mentors but also Office Peon and Security Person for the day. The learners were graded as per their class control, subject knowledge and body language. To the delight of the staff members and the learner-educators, they were treated to delicious snacks during the course of the day. The school run in full discipline and ended with a short program for the learners where they shared the day’s experiences. Overall it was an awesome day for everyone.
