At Shree H. J. Gajera School, students and staff alike came together to honor the powerful form of Goddess Durga, drawing from her divine qualities to bring peace and prosperity into their lives.
As part of the celebration, all students and staff dressed in yellow, the color associated with the first day of Navratri. Yellow is believed to radiate positivity, energy, and happiness.
A significant part of the day’s celebrations at the school was the Havan, a fire ritual that holds great importance in Hindu worship. Conducted by teachers and students, the Havan is performed to purify the environment and one’s inner self. The flames of the Havan signify the destruction of negativity and the purification of the soul, which is essential for setting the right intentions at the beginning of Navratri.
The day’s events reminded everyone that Navratri is not only a festival of devotion but also one of self-reflection and personal growth. As the young students performed rituals and wore their vibrant yellow outfits, they experienced a sense of belonging and connection to their cultural roots.
Navratri day one at Shree H. J. Gajera English Medium School in Katargam was a beautiful celebration of faith, tradition, and unity. The worship of Shailputri Mata and the spiritual practices such as the Havan provided an enriching experience for students and staff alike. Through the symbolism of the yellow dress code and the power of prayer, the event set a tone of positivity and hopes for the rest of the festival.
As the school community continues the Navratri celebrations, this first day serves as a reminder that devotion, unity, and spiritual growth are at the heart of this sacred festival.
