Navaratri is a grand Hindu festival that is widely celebrated in India and across the globe by the Indian diaspora. This festival, also known as Durga Puja or Sharad Navaratri, is observed for nine nights and ten days and is dedicated to the worship of the divine feminine energy, Shakti. On the third day of Navratri, devotees worship Maa Chandra ghanta, a form of Goddess Durga. • Symbolism: Maa Chandra ghanta represents bravery and courage. She is depicted with a half-moon (Chandra) on her forehead, which resembles a bell (Ghanta), hence the name Chandraghanta
• Appearance: She is often shown riding a tigress, symbolizing fearlessness. She has ten hands, each holding different weapons, and is known for her warrior-like stance1. • Spiritual Meaning: Worshipping Maa Chandra ghanta is believed to bring peace and serenity to her devotees. The sound of the moon and bell on her forehead is said to expel negative energies and spirits.
• Balance and Harmony: The grey color associated with Maa Chandraghanta represents the balance between good and evil, encouraging devotees to rise above challenges with grace. • Inner Strength: This day is a reminder of the inner strength and courage that Maa Chandraghanta embodies, inspiring devotees to face their fears and adversities with bravery.
With having highly devoted bhakti,Sadhana and devotion for Goddess Shailaputri Gajera Vidyabhavan, Katargam celebrated Navaratri Day third in association with ‘SUNIAT MAKER’S SPACE with having a special theme – Goddess, Nature & Environmental awareness. On October 5th, 2024 (Saturday) in Assembly Area. Celebration and Rituals • Prayer: - At first Prayer has been offered to invoke Maa Chandra Ghanta • Special Offerings: A special bhog of kheer is prepared and offered to the goddess during the puja. • Colour of the Day – all participants were in yellow-colored attires.
• Mataki Masterpieces – Mataki decoration activities has been organized in school assembly area in between 12: -00 noon – 2:30 PM. More than 50 students participated in the same with having spirits to execute their inner lying ‘Hooner’ of decoration with spiritual vibrations.
