On January 24, 2025, Shree H. J Gajera English Medium Primary Section took a significant step towards empowering its students with knowledge about personal safety and boundaries. On the occasion of National Girl Child Day, Shree H.J. Gajera English Medium School organized session on “Good Touch and Bad Touch” for girls in grades 7 and 8, aimed at educating them about the importance of recognizing safe and unsafe touch in various situations.
In today’s world, it’s crucial for young people, especially girls, to understand what constitutes appropriate behavior and how to set boundaries when it comes to their bodies. By teaching them about “Good Touch” (a touch that makes them feel safe and comfortable) and “Bad Touch” (a touch that makes them feel uncomfortable or unsafe), this session provided essential tools for navigating their personal space.
The session also covered how to identify various forms of inappropriate touch, including physical, verbal, and emotional boundaries. The discussion was conducted in a way that was both sensitive and age-appropriate, ensuring that students felt safe and supported while addressing these important topics.
The main objective of this session was to empower young girls to understand their rights over their bodies and make informed decisions in difficult situations.
By addressing such a critical topic in an open, educational, and safe environment, the school is helping to cultivate a generation of young individuals who are aware of their rights, respectful of others, and capable of navigating the challenges that come with growing up in today’s world.
