CHILDREN’S PARLIAMENT

Shree H.J. Gajera English Medium School, Primary Section, proudly organized a vibrant and educational Children’s Parliament, providing students with a real-life experience of India’s democratic system.

The event was thoughtfully designed to replicate the structure and functioning of the Parliament of India. Students enthusiastically took on the roles of the President, Speaker, Prime Minister, Cabinet Ministers, and Opposition Members. The session began with a ceremonial address, followed by the smooth conduct of Question Hour and Zero Hour, where students raised meaningful questions on education, environment, development, and national concerns.

A major highlight of the program was the engaging debate on the “One Nation, One Election” Bill. Students confidently presented their viewpoints with clarity and respect, demonstrating awareness of current issues and strong critical thinking skills. The Speaker maintained discipline and decorum throughout the proceedings, ensuring an authentic parliamentary experience.

The Children’s Parliament significantly enhanced students’ public speaking abilities, leadership qualities, and sense of responsibility as young citizens. It also promoted democratic values such as tolerance, teamwork, and respectful dialogue.

Indeed, democracy was not just taught — it was truly experienced.
