International Science Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on February 27th and 28th at our institution. The two-day event was filled with insightful activities, inspiring speeches, and a showcase of innovative projects by students. The celebration not only honored the legacy of great scientists but also encouraged young minds to explore the wonders of science.
Day 1: February 27th – A Creative Start
The event began with an inspiring speech by our Principal, Nitin Patil Sir, who emphasized the importance of science in everyday life. His words set the tone for the day, motivating students to actively participate in the planned activities.
The first day’s major attractions included:
- Essay Writing Competition – Students expressed their thoughts on various scientific topics, showcasing their knowledge and creativity.
- Poster Making Competition – This competition allowed students to present their ideas visually, creating informative and artistic posters based on scientific themes.
The enthusiasm and participation of students in these competitions reflected their deep interest in science and innovation.
Day 2: February 28th – The Grand Celebration
The second day commenced with a prayer and lamp lighting ceremony, symbolizing the enlightenment that science brings to humanity. Following this, Principal Nitin Patil Sir addressed the audience, emphasizing the significance of National Science Day, which commemorates the discovery of the Raman Effect by Sir C.V. Raman.
Honoring Our Guest and Spreading Positivity
Our esteemed guest, Dr.Vaibhavkumar N. Mehta, a renowned scientist, was warmly welcomed and facilitated with a gift as a token of appreciation. A unique initiative, “Plant a Smile”, was also undertaken, where Dr. Mehta watered a plant, signifying the nurturing of knowledge and growth.
Expert Lecture and Interactive Session
Dr.Vaibhavkumar N. Mehta then delivered an expert lecture on nanotechnology and general scientific awareness. His insights captivated the audience, helping them understand the modern advancements in science and technology.
A talk show followed, where students had the opportunity to interact with Dr. Mehta. Thought-provoking questions and enlightening discussions made the session both engaging and informative.
Exploring Innovation – Student Project Exhibition
The principal, expert, teachers, and students then proceeded to the project exhibition, where young innovators presented their fascinating scientific projects, including:

- Speed Detector – A system to monitor and control speed effectively.
- Carbon Purification – A project focusing on environmental sustainability.
- Morbi Bridge Model – A tribute to engineering marvels.
- Niels Bohr Model – A representation of atomic structure.

- Smart Robots – Demonstrating advancements in artificial intelligence.

The event continued with discussions on “Dad’s Medicine: Ancient Wisdom and Scientific Benefits”, where participants explored the science behind traditional healing practices. This was followed by a session on “Traditional Beliefs with Scientific Reasons”, bridging the gap between age-old traditions and modern scientific explanations.
The Exciting Quiz Competition
The final event of the day was the Science Quiz Competition, featuring eight teams, each named after a great scientist:

- Team A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
- Team C.V. Raman
- Team HomiBhabha
- Team Ramanujan
- Team Jagdish Chandra Bose
- Team Vikram Sarabhai
- Team Kannada
After an intense and competitive round of science-based questions, Team Jagdish Chandra Bose emerged as the winner. The victorious team was facilitated by Principal Sir and teachers, and a memorable group photo was taken to mark the achievement.
