Ganesh Chaturthi

Ganesh Chaturthi is a much-loved festival in Hindu tradition, celebrating the birth of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and the giver of wisdom and prosperity. Revered as ‘Vighnaharta’ (the one who removes hurdles) and ‘Vighnakarta’ (the one who brings challenges to the wicked), Lord Ganesha is honored as the deity of wealth, knowledge, and success. The festival is marked by vibrant rituals, and holds great significance in Indian culture, blending spirituality and joy.

At Gajera English Medium Pre-Primary section, the celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi was filled with devotion and festivity. The event commenced with a lively lezim dance performance by the young learners, radiating energy and joy. Their captivating expressions while dancing to a devotional song left the audience in awe. The highlight of the event was the creation of an eco-friendly Ganesha idol made from soil, blending creativity with devotion.

Educators shared the story of Lord Ganesha, emphasizing his cleverness and sense of humor through a playful skit where the children learned how Ganesha used his wisdom to circle his parents rather than the universe. The skit brought laughter and deeper understanding of Ganesha’s qualities, teaching the young ones that wit and wisdom often outweigh physical challenges.

The celebration concluded with a symbolic eco-friendly Visarjan (immersion ceremony), where the Ganesha idol was gently immersed in a pot of water. The dissolved soil was then reused for planting, encouraging students to adopt sustainable practices in their own homes. This ritual not only honored tradition but also instilled environmental values in the learners.

Through this meaningful celebration, educators nurtured the children’s appreciation for cultural traditions while promoting environmental responsibility. The joy and devotion expressed during the event will surely leave lasting memories and values in their young minds.
