International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day is celebrated annually on March 8th. Since 1911, International Women’s Day has represented a celebration of women’s achievements across social, economic, cultural, scientific and political. International Women’s Day is not just about recognition—it’s about action and change.

International Women’s Day is a time to celebrate the remarkable achievements, progress, and contributions of women to society. Among the many fields where women have left indelible marks is education. Women teachers have persisted, excelled, and significantly shaped the educational landscape.On International Women’s Day 2025, the theme “Accelerate Action” reinforces the urgency of prioritizing women’s health, from preventive care to mental well-being.Empowering women through better healthcare is essential for building a healthier society.

Women make up a part of the teaching staff, in India playing a role in the educational system of the country. The dedication of women educators to the profession of teaching is evident through their presence in classrooms nationwide. These female teachers impact students’ lives by serving as mentors, caregivers, and inspirations alongside their role, as educators.

Several physical and mental health conditions affect women differently than men, requiring a specialized approach to diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. From reproductive health disorders to chronic conditions, women face unique health challenges that require timely intervention and specialized care.

To make this day worth, the school organized a “WOMEN WELLNESS PROGRAM”for which we invited Dr. Sweta Patel, a renowned IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) specialist of Surat. She focused on educating Women teachers on the importance of maintaining proper hygiene practices, its impact on overall health and well-being.

She drew the attention how negligence can effect on Common Women’s Health Issues and its impact on Reproductive system, menstrual disorders, Heart Disease, Osteoporosis, menopause, leading to brittle bones and fractures, Breast & Cervical Cancer. She also discussed about Mental Health Problems in Women, Anxiety and Depression, hormonal fluctuations, societal pressures and life transitions, Stress-Related Disorders, Work-life balance, caregiving responsibilities, and social expectations contribute to higher stress levels in women, impacting their overall health.

The main objective of organizing “Women’s Health and Wellness Programs was  to:

  • Identify and address the unique health challenges and requirements of women in the workplace.
  • Promote a culture of preventive care, open dialogue, and supportive resources to empower women to prioritize their health and wellbeing.
  • Foster an environment where employees can flourish, productivity soars, and the workplace becomes a hub for both professional growth and personal fulfilment.
  • Encourage women to take an active role in their health and wellbeing by providing educational resources and opportunities for personal development.

Everyone, from individuals to organizations should contribute towards women’s empowerment, health, and well-being.
