Sports Day; the Unforgettable Day!

A school sports day is an event that gives students the opportunity to participate in a variety of athletic events. It’s a day to celebrate the spirit of sports and to promote the importance of physical fitness, mental health, and overall well-being.It is one of the most loved events of the year; the children very longingly look forward to it. The month of January is earmarked for the occasion, as, at this time, the weather is pleasing for a long span of games on the field. Sports Day has a really positive impact on a school’s culture. It brings students together, encourages teamwork, and creates a friendly sense of competition. With great planning and a diverse range of sports and activities, our school fosters physical fitness, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. 

In the esteemed presence of dignitaries – school campus director Miss.Gulab Vasani, Director Mr.Jayesh Patel, Gujrati Medium Principal Mr.Bhavesh Ghelani & Miss.Bhavisha Solanki English medium Principal Mr.Nitin Patil  vice principals, educators, students and helping staff the day started with great zeal and enthusiasm. The scorching field vibrated with fiery vigor, and it was adorned with pulsating house flags. The gaily decorated canopies, the marked tracks, and the victory stand truly reverberated the competitive spirit in every sporting star. 

The invited guest Smt. Bakulaben Patel, an international swimmer, extended her heartfelt wishes to the participating students kindled the flame of sportsmanship within them. Her motivating words kicked of the spirit of the students, motivating them to pursue their passion in sport with determination and dedication.

The ceremony commenced with the wonderful ‘March Past’, where the parade was performed by Student’s Council members of all the four houses, led by their house captains. Each houses proudly marched, while the drum beats echoed the sky, the shriek of commands steered the pace. Hoisting the flag unveiled the moment of nationalism, and the true sporting spirit circled the field with the exalted torch bearers. The guest of honour took the salute of the impressive March Past of the students. A group of students performed a motivational dance and a mime act on “Traffic Awareness Program.”

The events included running events like 100mt, 200mt, 400mt, 800mt, long jump, high jump, triple jump, shot put, discus throw, javelin throw, 4 * 100 relay,4 * 200  relay. The atmosphere was electric, with cheers and applause resonating through the air as students showcased their talent and determination. The participants demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship, pushing their boundaries while also encouraging their teammates. The winners of the games were felicitated with certificates & medals by ACP Gamit (Traffic police department, Surat) & PI – Mr.J.K.Rathod (Traffic police department, Surat). ACP Gamit applauded the students on their participation and win.

Further he sensitized students to follow Traffic rules and follow road safety while on the road. He expressed the concern over the increasing filth in the city, accidents due to rash driving and effects of alcohol & drugs and its risk factors involved in it.

Excitement and enjoyment of the day created lasting memories and a positive outlook toward sports and physical activities. It was definitely an unforgettable day!
