Successful Completion of Drug Awareness Programme for Grades 9 to 12
“Choose Life, Not Drugs – Be Smart, Be Strong, Be Drug-Free” was the powerful message that echoed through the premises of Shree H. J. Gajera Sec. & H. Sec. Eng. Med. School, Katargam, as the school successfully organised a meaningful Drug Awareness Programme for students of Grades on 11 August 2026.
The programme was organised with the objective of creating awareness among young learners about the harmful effects of drugs and substance abuse, encouraging responsible life choices, developing confidence to resist peer pressureand promoting a healthy and positive lifestyle.
The programme commenced with a prayer and welcome address, followed by an insightful introduction highlighting the importance of building a drug-free society. The expert interaction proved particularly valuable for students as important aspects such as addictive substances, their impact on physical and mental health, legal consequences, resisting peer pressureand seeking appropriate help were addressed.
The programme became even more engaging through student-centred activity of drama, which enabled learners to communicate the message of awareness and responsible decision-making creatively.
A significant moment of the event was the Student Pledge, through which learners committed themselves to staying away from drugs and inspiring others to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
The successful completion of the programme reaffirmed the school’s commitment to nurturing informed, confident and responsible young citizens. It was not merely an awareness programme but a meaningful reminder that every young person has the power to make the right choice.
