Fire Safety Session

“Preparedness is the key to prevention, and knowledge is the first step towards safety.”

At Shree H. J. Gajera Secondary & Higher Secondary English Medium School, Katargam, safety is regarded as an essential part of education. To reinforce this commitment, the school recently organized a comprehensive Fire Safety Training Session exclusively for educators. The session combined theoretical understanding with hands-on practical demonstrations, ensuring that every participant gained the confidence to respond effectively during emergencies.

The highlight of the programme was the practical experience provided to all educators. Under the guidance of trained fire safety professionals, teachers learned how to identify different types of fire hazards, operate various fire extinguishers and follow the correct evacuation procedures. Every educator actively participated in the live demonstrations, transforming classroom knowledge into real-life preparedness.

Such training programmes are invaluable because emergencies demand immediate, informed action. A well-trained educator not only protects themselves but also plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of hundreds of learners during unforeseen situations. These sessions enhance confidence, promote quick decision-making and foster a culture of responsibility within the school community.

Recognising the importance of continuous preparedness, the school conducts Fire Safety Sessions twice every academic year. Regular training ensures that educators remain updated with safety protocols and are always ready to respond calmly and efficiently. Repeated practice also strengthens emergency response skills and reinforces the significance of preventive measures.

The session proved to be a rich and enriching learning experience for every participant. Beyond acquiring technical skills, educators developed a deeper awareness of their responsibility as first responders within the school environment. Through such proactive initiatives, the school continues to prioritise the well-being of its learners and staff, reaffirming its commitment to creating a safe, secureand disaster-ready campus where education flourishes with confidence and care.
