World Environment Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and purpose at SHREE H.J GAJERA ENGLISH MEDIUM SCHOOL KATARGAM, on June 5th. The entire school community came together to honor our planet and raise awareness about environmental protection through a series of fun, creative, and meaningful activities.
The celebration began with a plantation drive, where Learners from 1st and 2nd grades participated in planting saplings around the school premises. Learners planted a variety of trees and flowering plants, learning about their importance in maintaining ecological balance. The joy on their faces as they dug into the soil and nurtured young plants was truly heartwarming. Learners also showcased their creativity by turning waste materials into useful and beautiful items. This activity helped Learners understand the importance of recycling and reusing in reducing environmental waste.
To promote biodiversity and show kindness to our feathered friends, Learners designed bird nests, feeders, and bird baths. Made from eco-friendly materials, these structures provide shelter, food, and water to birds during hot summer days.
